  • Man-in-the-Middle Attacks:
    • A scammer exploits a non-secure network connection to interfere in the victim’s online correspondence
    • The bad actor receives all messages and can use them to impersonate each party to the other to discover sensitive information
  • Inside Attacks:
    • Sometimes, the cyber threat who threatens a company’s data security is someone who already has access to the network
    • Disgruntled former employees are the most common perpetrators of this cyber-crime, as they have the passwords and authorizations to get around network security

 The GUARDBOX project is a network firewall distribution, based on CentOS 7 operating system with a custom kernel and including third party free software packages for additional functionality. The software, with the help of the package system, is able to provide the same functionality or more of common commercial firewalls, without any of the artificial limitations. It has successfully replaced every big name commercial firewall you can imagine in numerous installations around the world, including Check Point, Cisco PIX, Cisco ASA, Juniper, Sonicwall, Netgear, Watchguard, Astaro, and more. GUARDBOX includes a web interface for the configuration of all included components. There is no need for any Linux knowledge, no need to use the command line for anything, and no need to ever manually edit any rule sets.
